This page will describe the changes in each new release of Rapid Evolution.

• Fixed potential database save problem on Mac OS X

• Fixed temporary WAV not being deleted

• Fixed Quicktime decoder renaming long filenames unnecessarily
• Disabled use of MIDI output devices on Mac OS X 10.6.x (was causing crashes due to a Mac bug)

• Fixed freeze when double clicking a song in the search table (bug introduced in 2.13.x?)

• Fixed bug preventing adding songs with blank filenames

• Improved MP4 tag support (both reading and writing)
• Upgraded JAudiotagger tag library (various tag related fixes)

• Increased auto-save interval from 60 minutes to 30 minutes
• Fixed behavior of writing to “RATING WMP” tag

• Fixed RE2 to properly read ratings during “Add all” process
• Fixed RE2 to write rating to tag “RATING WMP” instead of “RATING_WMP” for compatibility with Traktor

• Fixed a bug in Traktor NML import function (new version of NML files caused incorrect filepaths to be read)
• Fixed importing of ratings (and possibly other fields) from FLAC/OGG files on some files

• The thread priority is now set on background tasks (such as key/BPM detection) to prevent them from hogging system resources

• Fixed a bug in Mac OSX where fork files (that begin with ”.”) were being included when scanning for new music

• Fixed a bug where the process for scanning for new music would pick up songs already added due to different file path separators (i.e. C:/ versus C:\)

• Fixed a bug which could cause the Quicktime libraries to not function properly

• Fixed look and feel not properly saving between sessions (introduced in 2.13.0)

• Added an option to automatically update tags when song info changes (will keep song tags and RE2 info in sync)
• Added the ability to specify your main music directory, and have RE2 automatically scan it for new music on startup
• Improved multi-threaded file management
• More robust metadata retrieval system for fetching album covers and Discogs info

• Fixed the application architecture to store song data in the correct user directory (depending on the operating system)
• Fixed the default install option to work with Windows Vista and Windows 7 (should reduce the amount of install options needed and make installing RE2 easy)
• Fixed install problems specific to 64 bit Windows machines
• Fixed duplicate songs being added during “Add All” process when songs with the same filename already exist
• Fixed drag and drop of files from the native OS onto RE2 in Windows 7 (and possibly other operating systems)
• Fixed the ability to detect keys from very short audio samples (previously “G#m” was being returned incorrectly for these types of files)
• Fixed a problem with Discogs data retrieval causing it to break when the Discogs site changed
• Raised the default amount of memory at RE2 install time to avoid common issues (changed to 400MB from 200MB)
• Improved the performance of adding large directories
• Added a safeguard to the behavior for “optimize song adding for albums”, where persistent information will be cleared when the directory is different

• Added ability to import key field from Traktor NML files

• Fixed filenames being converted to lower case when renamed

• More robust Discogs information retrieval
• Added option to delete associated files when deleting songs
• Added option to reset the play count (# plays) for selected songs

• Fixed Discogs album cover/data retrieval
• Fixed organize file feature with very long filenames in Windows (could cause broken file associations when organizing)

• Fixed a MIDI keyboard display bug (with enter key chord)
• Fixed re.zip install method (had missing JAR files)

• Upgraded JAudiotagger to latest version 1.09 (fixes many tag reading/writing issues)
• Added Traktor skin by user STeT

• Added the ability to not send mixouts to the Mixshare server (for artistic/privacy reasons). Enabling this will disable the ability to retrieve mixouts from the Mixshare server as well…

• Fixed bug which could cause colors to not save properly

• Updated the current song's “mixes” button to get mixouts from the new and improved Mixshare music server

• Improved the efficiency of the save routine

• Added end key when writing key information to the grouping tag, instead of just start key

• Added the ability to query year and publisher (label) info from the Mixshare server
• Added the ability to query tag info as comments from the Mixshare server
• Added the ability to share beat intensity information via the Mixshare server

• Fixed the error message when no results were found querying the Mixshare server
• Fixed the creation of styles when querying the Mixshare server
• Improved the behavior of batch queries to the Mixshare server
